Trusting Lucy is a collaboration between songwriters Linda Arceo and Lisa Long who joined musical forces in 2002 to focus their energy to write music that has been described as a “mix of soulful introspective ballads, straight-on hook driven melodic pop and forceful rock tunes sung with powerful distinctive voices and incredible harmonies reminiscent of the Wilson sisters from Heart, the Indigo Girls, and a dream duo of Grace Slick and Melissa Etheridge”. Their music whether performed as a band or acoustic duo provides an energetic stage performance that will definitely leave memorable musical impressions on any listener.

We took a trip down to Giovane’s Resturaunt one weekend for a show we were invited to by the Sledge Grits Band (who will hopefully also be on the air as soon as they get their first CD out) and we couldn’t believe our ears. After first hearing Trusting Lucy on stage, I knew we had to get them on the air. These girls can really entertain.
I know I’m usually a big sucker for acoustic music anyway, but this is not your average acoustic band. These girls have some awesome pipes that can really push out some smooth harmonies, and they have the skills behind the strings to back it up. We didn’t get to hear their full set as we got there a bit late into the show, however, from what we heard, we can tell you that Linda Arceo and Lisa Long of Trusting Lucy are DEFINITELY girls to watch out for.
I’ll be recieving some of their music very soon to put up on air, and I’ll provide a more in depth review and Artist Feature as soon as I get time to hear their full set.
If you would like to pick up their CD and listen for yourself, head over to TrustingLucy.com and click on Merchandise. You can pick up their CD, “It’ll Be Fine,” their Limited Edition 4 Song EP, “Trusting Lucy Shows,” and even t-shirts and caps. They also note that if you want them to autograph your CD, all you have to do is let them know! Trust us, with the talent these girls have, you will be wanting them signed.
We recently received brand new SalinasRadio band cards (business cards made specifically to bring new bands to SalinasRadio.com)
These cards have all the info a band needs to get their bands on the air to hopefully bring lots of great new local music. These are being handed out at local shows and at local music shops such as Wise Music.
A special thanks to Pete Wise and his great (and talented!) employees at Wise Music for allowing us to put our cards up in his store and for helping promote SalinasRadio to local talent.
Recently, SalinasRadio.com owner, Mike Rodriguez, was featured on ServerBeach as their “Geek of the Week”. This is great for SalinasRadio as it brought us quite a few new listeners this week. Thank you ServerBeach for the recognition and promotion. We are forever thankful.
I want to welcome all of our new listeners from ServerBeach. We hope you like our great local music!
And congratulations to Mike Rodriguez (ahem, me) for making SalinasRadio.com a feature and being this weeks Geek of the Week.
For all of you audiophiles out there, I am creating a new quality stream for all stations. You will need a cable or very fast DSL line to listen in high definition, as we will be streaming in 320kbps. That’s right, that’s more than DOUBLE the quality of our High Quality stream. Now we admit, some music may not be ready for 320kb streaming as it may have been recorded at only 96k, or 128k, however, as technology and recording equipment progress, we can only get better, and we’ll be ready.
Expect the new stream to be up and running to the public after we do a bit of testing. Keep on rockin’!
For just $20 a month, local businesses can have their ads play 20-30 times per day (usually played at least once per hour) That’s just $0.03 per ad play or $0.66 per day! You can even sign up for recurring payments so everything is done automatically (automagically…), we’ll take care of the rest. Ads range between the standard 15 or 30 second ad.
