"Rock, Metal, and Acoustic"
SalinasRadio.com is all about local music and promoting every single type of music out there, however, we realize that some of our listeners have specific tastes in music, and just as a Jazz lover wouldn’t want to hear a Heavy Metal song every other track, the same goes for Metal Heads who might not enjoy Blues as much. So our next step in making SalinasRadio a more enjoyable station to listen to, is splitting the station up into Genres!
Since we already have a TON of Rock, Metal, and Acoustic bands on board, I figure this is a good place to start. As we get more of other Genres, I will give them specific stations as well.
“Rock, Metal, and Acoustic” is a station for people who love the sound of a good guitar, a mean bass, strong vocals, and hard drum beats. Everything from the Rock and Roll sounds of Rum & Rebellion, to the Metal antics of Counter Clockwise, and even the smooth Acoustic sounds of Rene Velarde. You’ll find it, on SalinasRadio “Rock, Metal, and Acoustic.”

Counter Clockwise
“Counter Clockwise is from Monterey, CA. Founded by the metal driven guitarist Jason. Jason and drummer Reggie began a quest for a balls out bass player. By Discovering Greg. The band developed a solid foundation of rock riffs backed by heart pounding power. Completing this astounding line-up with Roman, COUNTER CLOCKWISE began its transformation into a rock hard performing metal machine, playing at such places as The Pound in San Francisco, The Catalyst in Santa Cruz, Velvet Jones in Santa Barbra and in their home town at the Lava Lounge and Monterey Rock and Arts Festival. Counter Clockwise hopes to continue to expand their horizons and their warped musical minds. COMING SOON to a stage near you!!!” - MySpace.com/CounterClockwiseWorld
Check them out at The Lounge Underground in Monterey, CA at 4/24/2009 at 9:00 PM.

Rum & Rebellion
Salinas is probably the last place you’d find a band like us. The migrant knows this town for work. The literati know this town because of John Steinbeck. Servicemen remember Salinas because it was every soldier’s destination upon leave from Ft. Ord. You’ve probably had a salad with components from the Salinas Valley. James Dean died on his way to a race here.
But all that is neither hear nor there. The fact is, none of Rum & Rebellion grew up in Salinas. But this town is where we’re at right now, and that’s reflected in our music..
